About

Hi there, I’m George and this is my online retreat when I am not out there fishing or trying my new baits.

No matter how much I enjoy fishing, I can’t be out on a river or lake all the time. So, when I am not actively fishing, I create my own baits or write all about it on this blog.

Of course, the blog will not be exclusively about making bait and other fishing equipment, but also about other interesting subjects for fishermen and fishing enthusiasts. Because fishing is something that will stick with you as soon as you try it out, I enjoy writing about it just as much as I enjoy doing it. Thus, if you have the same opinion or simply like reading fishing-related texts, stick around. Also, keep an eye on my tips for making your own, personalized fishing bait because, who knows, maybe it will increase your chances for success next time you’ll go fishing.

My first contact with fishing happened when I was just a little boy. My father was not a fierce fisherman, but he did enjoy to cast his gear now and then, for the sake of spending time in the outdoors and relaxing. In fact, I am pretty sure this was the best relaxation method for him, as catching fish was never a priority in his case. So, as I grew, I wanted to give it a shot myself. I was immediately drawn in by this activity, in an inexplicable manner.

There was something so fascinating about casting your reel, waiting patiently for the fish to bite while enjoying the pace and the views, and, of course, seeing that your bait works.

As the years went by, I wanted to go out fishing as often as I got the chance. I soon became much more active than my father, using the blessing of technology to find out more about my passion and hobby. I began doing thorough research in my spare time, looking for new pieces of equipment, improved fishing methods, and even bait manufacturing.

There are times when the weather or time of the year does not allow fishing experience. But since it’s the kind of passion that requires constant attention, I had to find something to do that was related to it even when I was away from water. And this is how I started researching and creating my own baits.

Believe me, it is very exciting to fish with your own bait. Each time I make some new baits, I can’t wait to give them a try. It is true that some worked better than others, but other factors influenced my fishing adventures than the bait I used. Every fisherman knows that fish may simply not bite, even when you use the best bait ever. But, when the fish bite, the excitement is even bigger if you use your own bait. So, if you are interested in techniques for making bait on your own, I will share numerous articles based on this subject.

However, you will be able to find other types of articles on my blog as well. This is, after all, a blog dedicated to fishing, in particular, fly fishing. I have tried several other types of fishing styles, but inexplicably fly fishing caught my interest more than the rest. I find it more relaxing yet exciting at the same time. You can spend hours of peace and tranquility, or you can see your fishing rod dance almost all the time. It is a great way to unwind after a busy period.

When I am not that successful at catching fish, simply being there with a fishing rod in my hands, waiting, allows me to make some order in my thoughts and reconnect myself. It is a great moment to practice mindfulness and simply enjoy the moment. Thus, I always return home recharged with positive energy and rested, in spite of waking up very early to get the right spot and the right time to start fishing.

I did my best to make this blog suitable for fishermen that are just starting out and experienced fishermen alike. In fact, if you’re an experienced fisherman and you enjoy making your own bait and lures, your ideas and comments are welcome. This is why I try to cover a wider spectrum of subjects so that every visitor has something enjoyable to read about fishing. So, check out articles about gear reviews, how to improve your fishing experiences, and other writing meant to help you have an unforgettable fishing adventure.

I know that once you start fishing, there is always room for improvement. You want to find out better ways to make fish bite, how to be more comfortable when you plan to spend your night out fishing, what pieces of equipment will fit your fishing style best, and the list can continue. I am well aware of all these because I’ve been there already. And, to be honest, my search and research continue even during these days.

I am constantly on the lookout for the latest released in terms of equipment, methods that I didn’t have the chance to try just, and other pieces of fresh information that could help me out and make my fishing experiences more enjoyable. So, this is what I am trying to do for you. I am eager to share my findings with other fellow fishermen so that we can all enjoy our hobby at a higher level.

Hopefully, you will like my writings and enjoy them during those moments when you can’t cast your reel. Ideally, I will be able to give you some tips and hints on how you can improve your technique, allowing you to be more successful and prouder of your capture.

So, stay tuned as I am preparing fresh new content for you to enjoy.

Cheers,

George
